There are times where one is just too wrapped up in love to see that the relationship is rocky, or at times even abusive. Unlike most reasons to look into abuse, this list is for the guys. An abusive relationship doesn't necessarily have to be physical; women can be emotionally abusive to their other half.

These top 5 signs will help you fellas open your eyes and realize when it's time to get out, hopefully while you're still in one piece.

  • You're broke
    This should only pertain to those who have jobs. If you are finding that saving up for that new laptop, a new suit, or even a new pair of shoes to be too difficult because of your relationship, that's a big problem. Your significant other should be respectful enough to let you have what you've earned. If your lady friend is constantly reminding you that diamonds are a girl's best friend, she doesn't have much respect for you and your financial status.

  • You have no friends
    It's definitely a challenge to maintain a steady relationship whilst staying close with your friends. Some may object to this by stating that good time management will allow anyone to maintain a healthy relationship with their spouse and their friends at the same time, but I am talking about being FORCED to leave your friends. If you are expected to ditch your buddies for a round at the bar after a hard day's work to give your companion a foot massage, it's really time to think about where your relationship is headed.

  • You're talking to a wall
    Your girlfriend/wife should be your best friend first, then life partner. She should be there to help you out with your hardships as you are there for her, but if you're trying to tell her about your struggles at the workplace, and all she cares about is the sale going on at Sak's, you should think about whether you really need a wall for a girlfriend/wife.

  • You're an option
    You make her your priority. Often checking the weather for her daily commute and buying the groceries with her in mind. But if she considers you just an option, who she can go to whenever she's bored, it's time to walk away. These are the type of girls who will call you only when she has absolutely nothing else to do with her day. The type of girl that will only call you with a question or a request. You could be someone's priority too, don't waste your time being an option for someone and move on.

  • You're a doormat
    Of course you love doing favors for your significant other, but there is a very bold line between being loved and being a doormat, and if your significant other is constantly stepping over this line... well, no body wants to be a doormat. If this habitual line stepper has got you chauffeuring her and her friends through the city to go shopping, or taking her shoes off or cleaning up her mess, you should really think about where the love is. If she really loved you, would she really be using you like this? Does she love you, or the things you do for her? There is a big difference.
