Everyone knows about Lady GaGa, even people who haven't heard of much else. She is everywhere, and you really can't miss her. Her outlandish outfits, unlikely singing voice and showbiz ubiquity make her a household name, even if that house is not one of ill repute. But what is the secret to her success, and should it be imitated by those who feel center-of-attention status is a step in the right dating direction?

Let's explore why Lady Gaga takes up so many of our brain cells.

Is She Hot or Not?
Lady Gaga is definitely a sight to behold, but it's usually because she is wearing bubble wrap or barbed wire. What about Gaga qua Gaga? Without the wacky costumes, and with a little make-up, we see the relatively normal Gaga.

Here's my thing: I can't decide if she's hot or not.

She definitely isn't ugly. I'd be happy to have her. But by Hollywood standards, is she a looker?

Her aesthetic ambiguity is a key to her celebrity; it keeps people wondering and it keeps her in our minds.

Teetering the line between hot and not will definitely get your some spotlight.

She Tries Too Hard?
Yes, she tries too hard. But this hackneyed tactic of every adolescent only-child seems to work, here. It isn't that the "trying-too-hard" is working. It's that people can't believe HOW MUCH she is trying too hard. I mean, I look at Gaga wearing some crimson monstrosity and I think, "I can't believe she doesn't think that WE think she's trying too hard. I mean, she can't really think that is cool in any way, right?"

Again, it keeps her in our minds. Maybe over-the-top is the way to go.

She's the New Madonna
Madonna, the original Queen of Shock Value, has gone as far as to admit that she is happy that Gaga may be her predecessorin pop culture. They both got in a faux fight on Saturday Night Live. Lastly, no woman has been as consistently talked about and ogled until Gaga.

Seriously, she's the new Madonna the way Kobe Bryant is the new Michael Jordan. They aren't exactly the same, but the proximity is exciting.

And it is logical to assume that being closely compared to a hot woman pretty much makes you hot, too.

She Associates Herself with the Tried and True
To continue with the whole Madonna thing, Lady Gaga is smart enough to associate herself with musicians that have already proven themselves. Her VMA performance with Elton John was a show stopper that started the show. She is apparently working on a project with Cyndi Lauper and has a video duo with Beyonce that is an instant classic. The girl knows how to keep good company. Lesson number four: surround yourself with hot people if you want to become hotter.

She Actually Has Talent
Oh yeah, let's not forget that the Lady can sing her butt off, and she knows how to work that butt on a large stage. She is good at what she does, and that will always get you attention.

Every song she's put out has landed high on the charts, and every song she has in the future is highly anticipated. She is a true talent.

So there it is. Lady Gaga is a sight to behold. She keeps us wondering, keeps us enticed, and keeps us entertained. Those are three good characteristics if you want to be lauded as unbelievably attractive.

As you can see, she is one hell of a model American.
